Dr. Kimberly Kagan served as an Assistant Professor of History at West Point from 2000-2005, and as a Lecturer in International Affairs, History, and the Humanities at Yale University in 2005. She currently teaches classes in the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University and at The American University. She is also an affiliate of the John M. Olin Institute for Strategic Studies at Harvard University. Her research explores topics in ancient history that are salient in contemporary policy debates, e.g., the grand strategy of a global power in an era of changing threats, comparative empires, and the nature of warfare. She has written for The Weekly Standard and the Los Angeles Times, appeared on C-SPAN's Washington Journal, is the author of The Eye of Command (University of Michigan Press, 2006), and is the editor of The Beginnings of Empire (under contract with Harvard University Press). She is currently writing a book entitled Grand Strategy in the Later Roman Empire..
